Two Months Down

Okay Ladies, how you doing?  I am holding my own.  Down 12 pounds, at a stand still, but part of that is my fault.  Not enough movement, which I believe is the key to success.  I missed a week in the gym, needless to say I paid for it last night when I did make it back.  Every time I turned over in bed last night I caught myself moaning (and not in a good way!! SMILE) my muscles hurt!  I haven't heard from some of you in a while.  Are you doing okay?  Need me to come and encourage you?  What personal short term goal do you have at the moment?  I think when it comes to eating changes and exercise habits they need to be one day or week at a time...anything else is overwhelming and I tend to quit.  Let me hear from you....WE CAN DO THIS!

You Earn Your Body

If this were easy, everyone would be doing it!  I  found this photo today and it motivated me to keep going...even when the way is tough!
How is everyone doing? I know there have been some set backs, but I am happy to report that collectively we have lost over 100 inches and close to 90 pounds!
How exciting is that?  Get moving girls....spring is upon us!

Back On Track

Walter Elliot said, "Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after another" - and certainly perseverance and courage will facilitate and sustain your motivation to lose weight.

Well, after a week off for personal reasons I made it back to the gym today!  Other than the cramp I got in my hip while doing windmills...all was good!  I laughed and told my exercise buddies, maybe I should try that position a little more often!  If you know what I mean!!
I am seriously back to the strict eating habits again (however I did indulge in a DQ cone today) I had soup and salad for lunch so I justified the treat!

How is everyone else doing? Let me know....would love to hear from you!

Stress Eating

Okay, I already said that I eat when I am depressed or stressed, guess what?  That has been reconfirmed during the past week.  It has been really difficult for me to find a healthy alternative and resist the sweets that have been dropped at the door by caring family and friends.  All of you know that my sister, Brenda is in Hospice care. She summoned us to her house on Thursday as she was having an anxiety attack, and has asked several times we not leave during the past few days.  So, as a family we are taking turns being bedside. Thank you for the prayers.

Stress or no stress, I have to find an outlet for the months and weeks to come for relieving stress a healthy way. I am thinking the chocolate peanut butter pie from the G&R is not on my choices of healthy eating. I have lost 7 pounds though....a start!

At home I have been keeping busy cleaning and sorting. I brought my computer with me yesterday so I can fill some quiet time on-line.  Catching up with this blog for one, Pinterest, and I FINALLY got my digital scrapbook done from my trip to Italy.  What started out as a 45 page book turned into 89...could not bear to leave anything out!!  Kay...look for one soon! (Okay soon may be several weeks, and i think I should hand deliver it and we should have lunch.)

Day One

I woke up this morning and found myself excited about the challenges ahead of me! That lasted 30 minutes and then I weighed myself and took my measurements! My total measurements are just shy of my current weight!  Boy or boy, the 10 o'clock p.m. jumbo red velvet cupcake smeared in cream cheese icing was probably not a good way to end my holiday binge eating!  Oh well, today was a new day, it is now 8:00 p.m. and I am feeling pretty good about myself.  I ate a healthy breakfast and lunch, worked out at Performance Plus and finished with a sensible dinner!  However, it is 8:00 p.m. and I am ready for bed!  I am confident that my energy levels will increase the more I rid myself of junk food and I engage in a regular exercise program.  At least that is what I am told.  I will let you know next Monday!

Okay, here is what I need you to do.  Measure and weigh yourself (hide it in a secret place if you do not want to share) but be honest...no cheating! Measurements should include right upper arm, shoulders, bust, waist, hips, right thigh and right calf. Add them up.  It will be important to see your beginning measurements to measure your success.  You may lose inches even though you do not feel like you are losing weight. And for those of you trying to gain muscle (or four packs!) measurements are just as important!

Part 2 of my challenge....organize my chaotic kitchen cupboards. Living in temporary shelter without all my stuff is more difficult than I thought. There is no rhyme or reason as to why I store stuff where I do.  Let's start with more purging of the junk I have kept (or hoarded) for the past 6 months. Anyone else have the same problem?  Suggestions for keeping organized?
